To make this real and not just abstract, I’m going to walk you through my cousin’s birth chart as an example. His descendant is Leo, so his seventh house ruler is the Sun. And his Sun is conjunct Mercury in the third house.

Before we go further, let’s talk about the third house because this is where the story gets good. The third house is the communication house. It’s the house of your neighborhood, the people immediately around you, getting in your car and going for a drive, and getting your ideas out there into the world. You genuinely cannot make this stuff up. The chart told the whole story before it even happened.

Every Connection the Seventh House Ruler Makes Is Part of the Story

Here’s what I really want you to take away from this example. Every connection that the ruler of the seventh house makes in the chart, every angular relationship, every conjunction, every aspect, that is part of the story of how you meet your partner. Every single one of them matters.

Now look at Mercury, the planet conjunct his seventh house ruler. Mercury in his chart happens to rule his fifth house. And what is the fifth house? Art, creativity, leisure, pleasure, romance, and children. There are two of them. So the ruler of the seventh is conjunct the ruler of the fifth, and he meets his partner through selling art, falls in love, and builds a family. It translates so damn literally, it always does.

It’s literally sitting in his house of marriage.

And then look at Mars. What does Mars rule in his chart? His tenth house. His career, his public reputation. She is a wonderful networker and she helps him get clients to sell his art. Everything is connected, everything. Once you start seeing it this way, you will never be able to look at a chart the same again.

Sometimes, when you haven’t met the person yet, it’s hard to make sense of all of this in your own chart. The pieces are all there but they don’t click into place until the moment arrives.
