Neptune Knows Your Little Lies
Neptune Spills The Lying Tea
Are you a messy little fibber? Stick around, because I am going to let you know how easy it is for me to tell whether or not you are an honest person. I can see if you exaggerate and glamorize things just to make them look better than they are so you can get what you want. I can tell if you double speak. I can also tell if your lying is a trauma response or if you just lie for fun. Let’s get into it!
Neptune Squares: Where The Lies Hide
I present to you…Neptune!! Neptune has so much to do with lying, and I am talking aspects here. Squares are the big ones. Oppositions can be hit or miss as they might indicate more delusion than straight up lying. But squares? That is where lying shows up clear as day.
Chiron Square Neptune
This is your trauma response liar. Someone who lies because they feel triggered or unsafe. And they will not tell a small white lie, no. They will tell the biggest, craziest story to get out of the situation they are in. They need the lie to create distance and protection.
This placement also shows dissociation. Someone who lies because they have an image in their mind of who they are and they start to convince themselves they are that person. They are not just lying to you. They are lying to themselves and they fully believe it. That is deep Neptune!
Mercury Square Neptune
This is double speak energy. Let’s say I ask Bob how much money he made this year. Now that is already a personal question. But instead of saying the truth, Bob tells me, “I made over ten thousand this year.” What he really made was one hundred thousand. But because he framed it that way, I walk away thinking he is broke. He gets to hide the truth while technically not lying. That is Neptune and Mercury playing games.
Sun Square Neptune
This one is a wild card. Some people with this aspect lie for fun. Like everything is a joke, everything is a story. Other times it just shows someone who is delusional. It depends on where it lands in the chart. Some placements will have you dealing with a compulsive storyteller. Others are just lost in their own little dream world.
Mars Square Neptune
This person lies to get what they want and they will do it aggressively! Manipulation is the tool here. They know how to twist a story to make you act. And it really depends on what house Mars and Neptune are in. That will tell you what arena of life the lies show up in most.
Venus Square Neptune
This is glamorizing energy. They will make a situation look shiny and easy so that you get pulled in. Next thing you know, you are stuck with something way harder than what they sold you. And now you are in it because you promised.
This can also show up as delusion in love. Venus square Neptune can convince themselves they are in a relationship with someone who is not actually their partner. They can spin whole fantasies of love stories that do not exist. Sometimes it is lying while sometimes it is just full-blown illusion.
Jupiter Square Neptune
Here you see exaggeration. They take a seed of truth and blow it up into a giant story. A lot of times it is rooted in childhood trauma. They lie to protect themselves from fear or from feeling small. It often runs in the family.
But with Jupiter’s luck, these people do not usually get caught unless they are reckless. They can float through life making things sound bigger and brighter than they are. Sometimes they do it for fun. Sometimes it is survival. Either way, they get away with it more than most.
Moon Square Neptune
This one often shows up with family lies. Someone who feels their family does not value them as they are so they lie to look better or look like they are living up to someone’s standards, especially the mother or a strong female figure.
It is lying for emotional survival, lying to feel loved. But the kicker is they will not admit it. They will not face that part of themselves. Rather, they bury it deep.
Saturn Square Neptune
This is something I see often in people with Bipolar Disorder. And remember, I am also a nurse, so I notice these things in practice. Please do not take it as a rule. But when Saturn squares Neptune, there is a strong refusal to take accountability.
These people create such a solid story in their mind that they believe it. They cannot or will not see another perspective. They are convinced their version is the truth even when it clearly is not. That is Saturn’s rigidity locking in Neptune’s illusion.
